Taco Casserole

Taco Casserole

1 lb. ground beef
1 small onion, chopped
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1 (1.25-oz.) pkg, taco seasoning
1 can (8-oz.) tomato sauce
1 cup low-fat sour cream
1 cup low-fat cottage cheese
2 cups tortilla chips, crushed
8 oz. shredded Cheddar cheese

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Brown hamburger; add onion, garlic powder, taco seasoning and tomato sauce. Mix and set aside. Combine sour cream and cottage cheese.

Place 1/2 cup chips in 2 1/2-quart casserole Add enough meat to cover chips. Then cover with half of sour cream mixture. Sprinkle with 1/2 of shredded cheese. Repeat layers. Bake uncovered, for 30-35 minutes until cheese melts and dish is heated through. Makes 4 servings.
