Bacon-onion Broccoli Saut�

Saut�ed in bacon drippings with onions, smoky Chile pepper and garlic , broccoli becomes a favorite side dish!

4 cups broccoli florets ( about 1 lb.)
3 slices of bacon
1 purple onion cut into 1/2 in. slices
1/2 tsp. salt
1 garlic clove ( I just use garlic powder, a tsp. of it)
1/4 tsp. chili pepper or chili powder
1 tbs. vinegar, prefer apple cider

Boil or steam your broccoli, until just tender. Drain. Meanwhile cook bacon till crisp. drain on paper towel. Add onion, garlic, salt and chili pepper/powder to drippings in skillet. Heat till onion is tender.

Stir in vinegar. Bring to a boil

Toss broccoli with onion mixture. Before serving, crumble bacon over the top.
