Dog, IOOF building, and tombstone - October 28, 2002

Schotzi the schnauzer loves lying on his back

The old Odd Fellows building at Fifth and Walnut received a new paint job to cover up the plaster on the wall. The building is being remodeled by Dave Uphoff for housing his computer software office and internet site. In addition, a Minonk historical museum will be added.

Minonk Township Cemetery's most famous tomb is that of Ella Martin who was murdered in 1879 at the age of 17. The tombstone was donated by the citizens of Minonk who conributed 50 cents apiece to raise the $700 cost of the stone. See story.
