Minonk High School Memorial 1919
for Veterans of World War 1


CECIL B. BUMGARNER

Cecil Bumgarner attended Minonk High School in 1917 and 1918, leaving at the age of eighteen to enlist in the army at Bloomington, ILL. He was sent to Jefferson Barracks for a short time. From here he was sent to Ft. Sill, Oklahoma, 1st Field Artillery, Headquarters Co. Cecil has recently received his honorable discharge.

GEORGE A. HALFMANN

George Halfmann attended High School from 1909 to 1913. He was inducted into the military service June 14, 1918, and was sent to Rahe's Army School at North Kansas City, MO. On August 15, 1918, he was sent to Camp Zachary Taylor, at Louisville, KY. In September he was warranted a Corporal of Battery B., 10th Battalion, F.A.R.D. and later to Battery B, 4th Regiment, F.A.R.D. In October he was warranted Supply Sergeant of the last named battery. He was later transferred to Battery C of the same regiment. George was discharged on January 14, 1919, with the rank of Supply Sergeant.
