City Park wading poolby Albin JohnsonThis picture was taken in 1932 and shows children playing in the City Park wading pool. The pool was built by the Kiwanis Club in 1929. I am the little one with my hand to my mouth, my sister Malora is holding me and my sister Joan to the right. Since I don't know the others in the picture, it would be fun if the other swimmers would write in and identify themselves.Years later, I recall a band stand, a WWI cannon, a water fountain with pergola cover and the concrete reservoir. Many Dutch Elm trees and swings, slide and merry go round were also in the park. We lived across from the park on the south side. Perhaps your readers have other pictures of concerts and parties there. |
