Minonk City Council Meeting Summary

The Minonk City Council approved an agreement with Moran economic Development Inc. to complete TIF closure documents for the State at its monthly meeting Monday night. The Council also approved the Elm Court Infrastructure improvement project to G.A. Rich and Sons, Inc. for $85,179.78 and approved the Walnut/Chestnut Street sewer rehabilitation project to Hoerr Construction, Inc. for $453,639.90.
In other business Alderman Trent Ruestman has resigned from Ward 2. Anyone interested in filling this seat until the next election is asked to contact City Hall so Council/Mayor can review options and consider filling the open seat.
Trick or Treat will be held on October 31st from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
High School Principal Burdette spoke during new business explaining Homecoming Parade changes for Homecoming this week. JFL players and cheerleaders will join High School players and cheerleaders at 6th and Chestnut and do the "Knight Walk" back to the High School.
During public comment Mrs. Tina Dunning spoke of issues with loose dogs running in town and issues with residents being approached and altercations with these loose animals. Mrs. Dunning asked that this issue be addressed better, and dog owners held accountable for their animals. Residents are asked to call City Hall if they see dogs loose so it can be addressed with the owners.
