The Fieldcrest Board of Education approved the tax levy at their Wednesday night meeting at Fieldcrest Middle School in Wenona. The amount of the levy was $9,252,913. The taxing district's aggregate levy did not exceed a 5% increase of the prior year's extension. Therefore, a notice and hearing were not necessary.
In other business, the architect and construction manager received permission to publish bid requests in January for Phase 2 at the middle and high schools. The estimated cost for the Middle School was $9,369,960 which is $98,365 under the budgeted amount while the estimated cost for the high school was $$5,868,376 which is $121,629 over the budgeted amount. The total amount is $23,268 over the budgeted amount.
The annual commercial insurance renewal with Meyer-Jochums Insurance Agency and Country Financial was approved.
The most recent IASB policy update was approved at the level of first reading.
The HS band room roof bid for asbestos abatement was approved for publication.
The charges initiated by the board last week involving the dismissal of Fieldcrest Principal William Lapp were approved this week.
The board approved the monthly financials, meeting minutes, and personnel agenda.
