Village-Aires to present Christmas program on Nov. 20 - 21

Monday, November 8, 2004 Posted 11:30 a.m.

Elaine Cunnungham, Jack Jochums, and Marylu Pille practice for the upcoming Villageaires Christmas show.

The Village-Aires will present their Christmas program "Christmas Dreams" on Saturday, November 20 at 7 p.m. and on Sunday, November 21 at 3 p.m. at the Fieldcrest Gym. Advance tickets are available from members for $5.00 for adults. Tickets at the door will be $5.50.

Christmas is the time to dream as the group opens their program with "Season of Dreams." Some dreams might be about a "Sleigh Ride," or maybe "Let it Snow! Let It Snow! Let it Snow!" or "Christmas Cookies." The women are probably thinking about all of the preparations as "Everyone's Gettin' Ready." Many people will be thinking about the Christmas parties as they go "Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree." Of course, the kids are dreaming of Santa Claus as they sing "Up On The Housetop."

The reason that we are able to dream about Christmas is because we celebrate the birth of a Savior "He Is Born." In the second half of the program the Village-Aires will sing: "Somebody Build A Manger," "A Cradle In Bethlehem," "A Classical Christmas," and "Glad Tidings of Joy." The men will sing "Rockin' In Bethlehem" and the women will sing ""Go Where I Send Thee!"

Several people returned to the Village-Aires after having been absent for awhile We welcome back: Shelly Butler, Tracy Healy, Beverly Meyer, Howard Harms, Ron Friese, George Hunt, and Jim Meyer.

We also welcome some new members this year. They are: Bev Friese, Sharon Russell, Rusty Russell, and John Oncken.
