Minonk and Wenona Pass Resolutions for Fieldcrest

Tuesday, October 5, 2004 Posted 3:30 p.m. Submitted by Fieldcrest Administration
On Monday evening, October 4, 2004 the Minonk and Wenona City Councils respectively approved resolutions allowing Fieldcrest District 6 to receive the full benefit of the proposed $.55 Education Fund tax rate increase without encumbrance from either TIF district. If the referendum is successful this November 2nd, Fieldcrest could expect to receive approximately $10,000 from the City of Minonk and another $25,000 or so from the City of Wenona. These figures are estimates based on the latest equalized assessed valuations in the various TIF localities.

Superintendent, Dr. Michael Stagliano, representing the District's interests at the Minonk City council meeting Monday evening, thanked the council members for their cooperation and support of the District's request. He also relayed to the Council the Board of Education's appreciation of this show of support. Board President, Jeff Pickard was in attendance at the Wenona City Council at the same time supporting the District's cause for passage of a similar resolution.

Fieldcrest will be asking the voters to approve an increase of $.55 for their Education Fund tax rate on the November 2nd ballot. The resolutions will allow the $.55 increase in the Education Fund tax rate to flow through to the school district, even where property is contained within a TIF district.
