Minonk native Vicki Kupec, daughter of Herc and Irene Paloumpis of Normal, has been in the center of an athletic family. Her husband C. J. Kupec was an All-American basketball player at Michigan before playing for the Los Angeles Lakers and the Houston Rockets of the NBA.

Now her two children are becoming college stars as well. Vicki's daughter Allison is a starter as a freshman on the Virginia Tech volleyball team. Last week Allie was named BIG EAST Co-Rookie of the Week for her efforts in the 2003 Hokie Classic. Click here to read more about Allie.

Son Chris was a first team all-conference his senior year in high school and played in the Baltimore Touchdown Club all-star game. Chris is currently a sophomore at Southern Illinois University and plays tight end on the Saluki's football team. Click here to read more about Chris.

Vicki's father Herc Paloumpis and grandfather Tom Paloumpis ran the Princess Sweet Shop in Minonk from 1914 until 1968.
