Minonk woman plays at Omaha reception

Elaine Cunningham played the autoharp and dulcimer Friday, July 23 at the contractor's reception for the Carl T Curtis Federal Building in Omaha, Nebraska She was reunited with former student Steve Cinnamon who was instrumental in inviting her to perform and then to attend the dedication the following morning. Steve had assembled an ensemble of employees to sing "America the Beautiful" and "The Star Spangled Banner". The Carl T. Curtis Federal Building is the 28th Building in the world to receive a Gold Rating for Green Building Rating System to define and measure 'green' buildings. The rating comes from points earned in the following categories: sustainable sites, materials and resources, water efficiency, indoor environmental quality, energy and atmosphere and innovation and design process. The building will house the Midwest Regional Office of the National Park Service and the Headquarters of the Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail. The building was designed by Leo Daly and development undertaken by Noddle Development from Omaha.
