Minonk area residents attended a public exhibit describing the options for reorganizing the sites for the grade schools in the Fieldcrest school district. A paper describing the three alternative proposals was given to those in attendance. Attendees were asked to rank the three proposals in order of desirability and give their comments on the paper. The board of education plans to review the proposal rankings and comments. The board plans to make a decision on which proposal to adopt at the September 16 board meeting.

The three proposals presented were:

#5 - Maintain a K-2 in Minonk, a 3-5 in Toluca, and a 6-8 in Wenona, and high school in Minonk. This proposal was estimated to save the district around $160,000.
