An open house was held for Jeane Hock's 80th birthday on Sunday, August 8th, from 1:00 p.m.
until 2-30 pm. at St. John's Catholic Church, 209 Jefferson Street, Benson, IL. Jeane's
large family and many friends were in attendance. Jeane's sister, Frances "Audy" Rivard and her husband
Bill were surprise guests coming all the way from St. Petersburg, Florida for the event.
Jeane has 7 children, 19 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren. Her husband, Richard Hock, Sr.,
passed away in 1982.
A video of Jeane's life was made and was played for the guests. Also, the family combined to
create a quilt as a birthday present. Members of the family made their own patch for the quilt
and then the patches were combined into a quilt by a professional quilter. Cake and refreshments were served
to the guests.
Below is a section of the heirloom quilt created by Jeane's family.
