Bids accepted for sports park construction

Bids for construction of the sports park at the north end of the city were accepted at a
meeting of the Millennia Committee Thursday night at City Hall. Sullivan Construction of Pontiac
was awarded the contract for site preparation and improvement for $223, 612.50. The site work will
include excavating, removing of old pavement, installation of culverts, tiles, water mains, sewer lines
and paving of parking lots.
RJS Constructors of Peoria received the contract to build a restroom and shelter facility for $114,012.00.
The structure will be approximately 30 feet by 40 feet.
Tonica Nursery received the landscaping contract for $25,000. This will include the planting of 52 trees
and seeding of grass. The bids for installation of the playground equipment, skate board park, inline hockey rink
and fitness stations will be awarded at the next meeting of the committee.
The Millennia Committee will seek the City Council's approval for the awarding of the contracts at the
next city council meeting on June 2. Upon council approval, construction will commence.
