New coalmine

The new coalmine in Minonk is located 1/2 mile north of the city. This photo here was taken from near the top of the mine and is looking south towards Minonk. Notice Walter Renken's house in the background near the entrance to the mine. The new mine still exists but much of its height has been reduced by filled taken from it to fill in a landfill nearby.
