Edmund U. "Bud" Schneider - December 21, 2001

Edmund U. "Bud" Schneider, 88, of 645 E. 6th St. Minonk passed away at 8:54 AM Friday December 21, 2001 at BroMenn Regional Medical Center, Normal.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM Friday December 28, 2001 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Minonk with Fr. Donald Henderson officiating. Burial will follow in St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery where military rites will be accorded. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM with rosary starting at 7:00 PM Thursday at Folkers - Froelich Memorial Home, Minonk. Memorials may be made to Illinois Heart Association, 300 E. War Memorial Drive, Suite 202, Peoria, IL 61614 or to the Community Cancer Center, 407 E. Vernon, Normal, IL 61761.

Mr. Schneider was born July 9, 1913 in Clayton TWP, Rural Minonk the son of John and Rose Hindert Schneider Sr. He married Mary Lou Scritchfield on April 9, 1945 in Henderson Texas. She survives. Also surviving is one son, John (Terry) Schneider of Owings, MD, two daughters, Linda (George) Cushing of Bloomington and Cindy (Fred) Elmore of Peoria, IL, one step-son, W.C. (Peggy) Brewster of League City, TX, nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Emily Schneider and Mary (Harold) Gebhards, and six brothers, John (Benita) Schneider JR., Louis (Dorothy) Schneider, Leland (Joan) Schneider, U.J. (Ruth) Schneider, Jim Schneider and Frank (Mabel) Schneider.

His parents, one brother, Francis "Ollie" Schneider and one great-granddaughter preceded Mr. Schneider in death.

Mr. Schneider was a member of the St. Patrick Catholic Church, Minonk, a member of the Holy Name Society at the church, a member of the Knights Of Columbus and a member and past commander of the Minonk American Legion Post # 142.

Mr. Schneider served as a First Sergeant in the 182nd Infantry Company in the U.S. Army during WWII. He worked for the Woodford County Service Company for 40 years.
