STREATOR -- Edna Mae Schmitz, 83, of 123 S. Wasson Street, Streator, formerly from Minonk, died at 4:45 a.m. Monday (Nov. 18, 2002) at the Community Hospital of Ottawa. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Leonore, the Rev. Charles McCarthy officiating. Burial will be in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Leonore. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Elias Funeral Home, Streator, with the rosary recited at 5 p.m.

Surviving are four sons, Robert (Joyce) Schmitz, Streator; John Schmitz, Chicago; Scott Schmitz, Springfield; and James (Lynn) Schmitz, DeKalb; four daughters, Mary Schmitz, Troy Grove; Margaret Schmitz, Seneca; Rita Schmitz, Streator; and Edna Schmitz, Streator; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
