James R. Schmillen - february 8, 2002

James R. Schmillen 79 of Minonk, died 4:55 P.M. Friday February 8, 2002 at St. Mary-s Hospital in Streator. His Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 A.M. Monday at St. Patrick-s Catholic Church in Minonk with Rev. Donald Henderson officiating, burial will follow in Reilly Cemetery, Rutland.

Visitation will be from 3:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. Sunday at the Froelich Memorial Home, Minonk with a rosary recited at 6:00 P.M. Memorials may be directed to St. Patrick-s Catholic Church, or to charity of donors choice.

Mr. Schmillen was born on August 8, 1922 in Peoria, IL the Son of Joseph and Catherine Patton Schmillen. He married Marge J. Kark on June 7, 1947 in Rutland, Illinois She passed away on May 21, 2001. He is survived by one daughter Sandra (Robert) Bentley of Minonk, two sons Steve (Pat) Schmillen of Ottawa, Il and Joseph (Teresa) Schmillen of Minonk, five sisters Grace Bogdonovich of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Alice Marks of Wenona, Ruth (Joseph) Lauf of Wenona, Marion (William) Norwood of Normal and Mildred Orth of Eureka. Also surviving are five granddaughters Kerri Schmillen, Laura Schmillen, Angela (Bill) Solley, Katie (Dustin) Muntz, and Nicole Schmillen and two great-grandchildren Cody James and Wilhemina Solley.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three sons Richard and two in infancy one sister Mary Agnes Kelm and two brothers Ed and Robert.

He was a member of St. Patrick-s Catholic Church, loved wood working being outdoors, farming and being with his family
