Walter A. "Wally" Rossman - August 7, 2002

Walter A. "Wally" Rossman, 85, of Minonk died at 7:35 A.M., Wednesday, August 07, 2002 at St. Mary-s Hospital, Streator.

His Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M., Friday at St. Patrick-s Catholic Church, Minonk with Rev. Dan Wilder and Rev. Lloyd Cunningham officiating. Burial will follow in St. Patrick-s Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 P.M. Thursday at the Folkers-Froelich Memorial Home where a parish rosary will be recited at 8 P.M.. Memorials may be directed to the church.

Mr. Rossman was born March 29, 1917 in Minonk a son of Lawrence and Anna Noe Rossman. He married Patricia Peters on June 22, 1973 in Minonk. She passed away April 22, 1995.

Surviving is a daughter, Paula (Richard) Miller of Galesburg. Also surviving are two nieces and a nephew who Mr. Rossman raised; Catherine (Marvin) Cannon, Normal, Cecelia Shaffer, Bloomington and Jude (Tanya) Boland, East Peoria. Other survivors include two grandchildren; Regina and Kevin Miller; two brothers; Ralph Rossman, Normal and Wilbert Rossman, Minonk; three sisters; Esther (Phillip) Stewart, Minonk, Marie (William) Woodward, Streator and Lucile (Kenneth) Cunningham, Minonk. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Joseph Rossman and a sister Hilda von Nordheim Pope.

Mr. Rossman farmed in the Minonk area for a number of years and was later employed by Caterpillar Tractor Company. He was a member of St. Patrick-s Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.
