MINONK -- Elizabeth "Betty" Ross, 94, of ASTA Care Nursing Home, Pontiac, formerly of Minonk, died at 2:55 a.m. Saturday (Feb. 3, 2001) at OSF Saint James Hospital, Pontiac. Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Folkers-Froelich Memorial Home, Minonk, the Rev. William Shields officiating. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Pekin. Visitation will be for one hour before the service at the memorial home. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

She was born June 27, 1906, in Trivola, the daughter of Fred and Lucinda Whitten Zehr. She married Ray Prunty. She later married Phillip Ross on Dec. 31, 1949, in Peoria. He died June 17, 1985. Survivors include a daughter, Jeanette Horn, Minonk; a son, Lester Prunty, Phoenix, Ariz.; a brother, Roy Zehr, Flanagan; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. A son and two brothers preceded her in death.
