Eleanor Ricard - October 20, 2001

Eleanor C. Ricard, 90, of San Diego, California died Saturday October 20, 2001. A native of Vermont, Mrs. Ricard was a former resident of Minonk from the late 1950's until August 1972. She had been a resident of San Diego since 1976.

Mrs. Ricard was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and the Arch Confraternity of of the Blessed Sacrament. She was a member of the San Diego Women's Club and the "39ers" Senior Group in North Park. She was also a member of St. Patrick's Church in Minonk and the Altar and Rosary Society. Besides her family she most enjoyed playing bridge with her many friends and keeping up with her beloved Padres.

Mrs. Ricard is survived by sons Raymond E. Ricard and wife Caroline of Port Orange, Florida and Robert A. Ricard and wife BeBe of Grand Prairie, Texas, daughters Arlene Wright and husband Allen of Randolph, Vermont, and Joan Wreschinsky of San Diego. She was "grandma" to 28 grandchildren and "super grandma" to 54 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren. She is also survived by brother Roland Van Guilder of Rockford, Illinois. A sister Amanda of Rutland, Vermont, also a former Minonk resident during the 1950's, died 5 days after Eleanor.

Mrs. Ricard is also survived by the children of the late Dr. Neil and Regina Esposito, Richard of Byron, Illinois, Russell of Woodridge, Illinois, Bernadette Green, Robert Esposito and Raymond Esposito of Bloomington, Illinois. Mrs. Ricard was the caretaker of the Esposito children after the death of their parents.

Besides her sister Regina (Van Guilder) Esposito, Mrs. Ricard was preceded in death by her stepchildren VBictor Ricard and Winifred Burnum.

Private services were held at St. Patrick's Church in San Diego. Double burial services were held in South Poultney, Vermont on October 29, 2001.
