EL PASO -- The funeral of Ellen G. Petri, 49, of 1606 Ashbrook Court, Normal, formerly of El Paso and Minonk, will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Froelich Memorial Home, El Paso. The Rev. Gary York will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, El Paso. Visitation will be from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. before the service Friday at the memorial home.

She died at 2:40 p.m. Monday (Dec. 16, 2002) at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Normal.

She was born June 6, 1953, at Bloomington, a daughter of Jack Holt and Beverly Bailey Stitt.

Surviving are her mother, Beverly Stone, Park Ridge; one daughter, Jill (Keith) Beck, Normal; one son, Gregory Patton, Bloomington; one sister, Jan (Doug) Sims, Michigan City, Ind.; one brother, Martin (Carol) Stitt, Madison, Wis.; and four grandchildren, Jesse, Ashley, Madelyn and Jack Beck.

Her father and grandparents, Lyle and Edith Stitt and Clayton and Fayette Bailey, preceded her in death.

She was an administrative assistant to the warden at Pontiac Correctional Center for 22 years.

She was a member of Eastview Christian Church, Normal, and formerly a member of United Church of Christ, El Paso. She graduated from El Paso High School and she received her master's degree in criminal justice from Illinois State University.
