Franklin E. O'Brien obituary

Franklin E. O'Brien 92, of 549 Thomas St. Minonk, IL, passed away Friday, July 27, 2001 6:36 AM at his residence. His funeral service will be Monday, July 30, 2001 at Froelich Memorial Home in Minonk with Rev. Daniel Gancsh-Boythe officiating. Visitation will be 1 hour before the service. Burial will be in Minonk Twp. Cemetery.

Memorial may be directed to St. Paul's United Church of Christ.

Mr. O'Brien was born June 21, 1909 in Minonk, the son of Joseph and Lena Kruse O'Brien. He married Ida M. McKinley on December 23, 1933 in Minonk. She survives. Also surviving are two sons, Richard Dean (Earlene) O'Brien of Plano, TX; and Dennis F. (Bonnie) O'Brien of Lancaster, TX; one daughter Nancy (Leslie) Carls of Minonk. Five sisters Ellen Mense, St. Louis, Mo, Hazel Vogel, Minonk; Ester Dalton, Peoria; Edith Brown, Peoria and Marjorie Workenington, Frezno, CA. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Debbie O'Brien, Michael Langen, Michael O'Brien, Lisa Carls and Brian Carls. Four great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

His parents, a son Joseph, two brothers and one sister preceded him in death.

He was a Baker employed by Minonk Bakery and later by Keith's Bakery in Normal where he retired from in 1972.

He was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ.
