Patricia Moritz - March 7, 2001

Patricia M. Moritz, 63, of rural Minonk, died at 7:50 p.m. Wednesday (March 7, 2001) at her home.

Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Minonk, the Rev. Craig Swenson officiating. Burial will be in Minonk Township Cemetery, Minonk. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Folkers-Froelich Memorial Home, Minonk, and for one hour before the service Saturday at the church.

Memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church, 318 W. Fourth St., Minonk, or to St. Jude Midwest Affiliate, Peoria.

She was born Feb. 11, 1938, at Low Point, a daughter of C.D. Charles "Shorty" and Margaret Luella Hofstatter Haney. She married Eugene Louis Moritz on July 9, 1955, at Minonk. He died Dec. 22, 1997.

Survivors include three daughters, Elilzabeth (Roger) Uphoff and Peggy (Daryle) Bachman, both of Minonk; and Jean (Gary) Wolf, Danvers; one sister, Cheryl (Ralph) Fugett, West Palm Beach, Fla.; and one sister-in-law, Judy Haney, Washburn. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Brian and Stacy Uphoff, Megan and Deborah Bachman, and Gregory and Garrett Wolf.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Carol Sue; and a brother, Roger D. Haney.

Mrs. Moritz was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Minonk. She also was a member of LaSalle Elks Lodge No. 584; Bloomington Eagles Lodge; Bloomington Moose Lodge; Woodford County Farm Bureau; and Aid Association of Lutherans.

She and her husband farmed for more than 40 years in the Minonk area. She enjoyed camping, baking and dancing, and she was a loving mother, sister and grandmother.
