Delores Lyon - December 26, 2002
Delores Lyon, 78, of 36 Forest Park Court, Avon Park, Florida, died Thursday, December 26, 2002 at Royal Care of Avon Park.
She was born December 6, 1924, at Minonk, Illinois, daughter of Irma (Cusac) and Herbert Spires. She married Gene Lyon on Jan 13, 1945. He Died August 1, 1994. Surviving are two brothers, Charles of Powder Springs, Georgia, and Roger of Minonk, Illinois and Avon Park, Florida. Also surviving are two step- children, Patricia Hurwit of Alta Loma, California, and James Lyon of LosAngles, California, four step- grandchildren, six step-great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Also surviving is her companion, Melvin Elgersma of Avon Park, Florida. She worked as a corporate secretary before retiring. No services will be held as per request.
