Frances Emily Lundgren - November 20, 2002

Frances Emily Lundgren, 83, of Minonk, formerly of Rutland, died at 6:20 a.m. Wednesday (Nov. 20, 2002) at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Minonk. Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Folkers-Froelich Memorial Home, Minonk, the Rev. Connie Jenkins officiating. Burial will be in Rutland Cemetery, Rutland. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today and for one hour before the service Friday, both at the memorial home.

Memorials may be made to United Methodist Church, Dana; or Salvation Army; or Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Minonk.

She was born July 28, 1919, in Groveland Township, LaSalle County, a daughter of Theodore and Mary Swamberg Lundgren.

Survivors include a sister, Delia Johnson, Toluca; three nieces, Lynn (Terry) Manning and Suzanne May, both of Minonk; and Nancy Johnson, Bloomington; two nephews, Neal (Connie) Johnson, Bolingbrook; and Bruce (Debbie) Johnson, Lexington; great-nieces and nephews, Stephanie Fuchs, Minonk; Kristin and Audrey Manning, both of Minonk; Patsy and Gary May, both of Minonk; Kevin Johnson, Windsor, Calif.; Cyndi A. Johnson, Arlington, Va.; and Rachel Johnson and Ryan Johnson, both of Lexington; and a special friend, Ray Krischel, Rutland.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Lorene Barth; two brothers-in-laws, Lawrence Barth and Floyd B. Johnson; one niece, Cynthia L. Johnson; and a very good friend, Virgil Vivian.

She was employed by Village of Rutland water works since May of 1957, and as village treasurer since December 1961.

Emily went to the Rutland schools and graduated from Rutland High School in 1937. Emily was a member of the United Methodist Church of Dana, where she had played the organ. She had lived in Rutland since 1954.

Emily was known for her big smile and her willingness to always do things for others.
