James Lee - November 18, 2002

James Lee, 70, of Palatine, formerly of Minonk, died Monday, November 18, 2002, after a lengthy illness. His service was held November 20 at Ahlgrim & Sons Funeral Home, Palatine. Interment was in St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Palatine.

He was born May 8, 1932, in Sikeston, Missouri, the son of James and Mildred Lee. He married Irma Schlosser on August 10, 1957, in Sikeston. She survives.

Other survivors include one son, James E. (Debbie) Lee III; three daughters, Laura (Terry) McKinney, Lisa White Connor, and Cynthia (Paul) Christin, and 14 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one granddaughter.

Lee graduated from Sikeston High School in 1951 and from Southeast Missouri State in 1957. He served in the Army from 1954-56 and was stationed in Germany.

He was the head football coach at Minonk-Dana-Rutland High School from 1958-1962. Lee also worked for Miller's Mutual Life Insurance Co. for one year and at Wallace Pharmaceuticals & Reliance Life Insurance Co.

Lee moved his family to Palatine in 1971 and began work as president and chief executive officer for U. S. Life-Credit Life Insurance Co. retiring in 1996.
