Raymond Kapraun - August 20, 2001

ROANOKE -- Raymond Joseph Kapraun, 60, of 503 N. State St., Roanoke, died at 12:44 a.m. Monday (Aug. 20, 2001) at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center, Peoria.

His funeral will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Remmert Funeral Home, Roanoke. He will be cremated. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to American Heart Association or Diabetes Association.

He was born March 30, 1941, at Pontiac, the son of George and Marie Waldschmidt Kapraun.

Survivors include Mary Jording, with whom he made his home; three sons, Richard (Amy) Kapraun, Dunlap; Douglas (Amy) Kapraun-Butkovich of Connecticut; and Scott Kapraun, Deer Creek; three daughters, Michelle (D. Kent) Chastan of Kentucky; Jennifer Kapraun of Virginia; and Lacey (Anthony) Reising, Metamora; seven grandchildren; three brothers, George (Betty) Kapraun, Metamora; Edward Kapraun, Benson; and Donald (Betty) Kapraun, Metamora; and four sisters, Mary Rowell, Elburn; Caroline (Jerry) Glowacki, Minonk; Janet (Jim) Aellig, Wheaton; and Nancy (Chuck) Stoltz, Kelso, Mo.

Mr. Kapraun was a farmer in the Benson area and was a carpenter in the Tri-county area. He was a 1959 graduate of Minonk-Dana-Rutland High School.

He belonged to St. Johns Catholic Church in Benson. He also was a member of Knights of Columbus.
