Ralph J. Harms - April 21, 2001

Ralph J. Harms, 89, formerly of Minonk, Chicago and Cape Coral, Fla., died at his home in Minneapolis, Minn., on Saturday (April 21, 2001).

There will be a memorial service Wednesday in Minneapolis, Minn. Inurnment will be held at a later date. Peterson-Stohlberg Chapels in Minneapolis, Minn., is handling arrangements.

Memorials may be made to his church, Brookdale Covenant Church of Minneapolis, Minn.

Mr. Harms was born March 12, 1912, at Panola, a son of John Henry and Hedwig Kark Harms. He married Minnie Kettwich on June 30, 1934, at Minonk. She survives.

Other survivors include two daughters, Betty (Ron) Benson, Salem, Ore.; and Joan (Paul) Erickson, St. Paul, Minn.; four sisters, Marie May and Elsie Baumann, both of Minonk; Anne (Franklin) Hammond, Brookings, Ore.; and Ruth Olsen, McAllen, Texas; a brother, Glenn Harms, Lexington; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Esther; and three brothers, John, Roy and Clarence.
