Ann J. Dirksen - July 15, 2001

Ann J. Dirksen 67 of Minonk passed away 12:24 A.M. Sunday July 15, 2001 at the Methodist Medical Center in Peoria.

Her Funeral Service will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday July 17, 2001 at the Presbyterian Church in Minonk with the Rev. Loretta Hunt officiating. Burial will follow in the Minonk Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 until 8:00 P.M. Monday at the Froelich Memorial Home in Minonk and from 9:00 A.M. until time of service at the Church. Memorials may be directed to the Presbyterian Church or the American Cancer Society.

She was born on December 29, 1933 in Springfield the daughter of Halbert and Rosella Shields Allbright. She married Ron Dirksen on June 19, 1960 in Minonk. He survives along with one daughter Cathy (Lee) Hoeft of Minden City Michigan, one son David (LeeAnn) Dirksen of Secor, one Granddaughter Lauren Dirksen, one brother William Allbright of Stillwater Minnesota, and one sister Norma Allbright of Glenarm, Illinois.

Her parents and one infant sister preceded her in death.

Mrs. Dirksen was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Minonk where she served as choir director since 1955. She graduated from Illinois Wesleyan University in 1955. She was a school Teacher for 27 years teaching at Minonk-Dana-Rutland for 7 years and Roanoke-Benson for 17 years where she retired from in 1990.

With her love of music she taught many vocal and piano students out of her home. She was also a member of the Village Aires, Minonk where she served as director for 35 years
