Arneita Dahl - March 12, 2001

Arneita L. Dahl, 89, of Venice, Fla., formerly of Minonk, died at 8 a.m. March 12, 2001, at her residence.

Her memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Minonk, the Rev. Craig Swenson officiating. Burial will be in Minonk Township Cemetery, Minonk. Visitation will be for one hour before the service Saturday at the church. Folkers-Froelich Memorial Home, Minonk, is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church, Minonk.

Mrs. Dahl was born Oct. 31, 1911, in Seneca, a daughter of Herman and Millie Torkleson Jackson. She married Everett Dahl on May 25, 1940, in Seneca. He died July 1, 1998.

Survivors include one son, Keven (Lauretta) Dahl, Sycamore; and one brother, Chartis (Joan) Jackson, Seneca.

Also surviving is a granddaughter, Wendy (Bryan) Holloway, Snoqualmie, Wash.

Her parents and one son preceded her in death.

Mrs. Dahl was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Minonk. She taught fifth-grade elementary school at Dana School, Dana, retiring in 1974.

She enjoyed singing in church, her many hobbies and bridge games. Her love of travel was infectious, culminating with her round-the-world trip.

When retiring, after Everett and Arneita moved to Venice, Fla., they continued to open their home to family and friends.
