Obituary

Mary Lou A. Stalter, 85, of Minonk, died at 6:45 a.m., Saturday (Feb. 25, 2017) at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center in Bloomington.

She was born Sept. 12, 1931 in Panola Township in Woodford County, the daughter of John and May (McBride) Gauger. She married Dean G. Stalter on Aug. 27, 1950 in Minonk. He passed away on Jan. 7, 1986.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; one brother, John Gauger, Jr.; and one sister, Florence Marshall.

Surviving is Mary Lou's daughter, Jane Beaty of Canton; her son, Steve (Carla) Stalter of Bloomington; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Mary Lou worked for Country Companies as a secretary for 20 years before retiring. She was a member of St. Paul's UCC in Minonk. She was a former member of Rebecca's, and served as an election judge. Mary Lou also enjoyed needle work such as knitting and needlepoint.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday at Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Minonk. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Minonk City Cemetery.
