Teddy Muncy, 68, of Minonk, IL, passed away at 12:45 p.m., Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at his home.
He was born November 18, 1954 in Teetersville, Harlan County, KY to Paul and Gladys (Saylor) Muncy. He married Janet Harms on June 17, 1995 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Compton, IL, having been a couple since 1983. She survives.
Also surviving are eight sons, Justin (Yasmin) Sell of Germany, Shane (Melanie) Muncy of Tampico, Jacob Sell of Wisconsin, Jeremy Sell of Oak Park, Chad Muncy of Sterling, Jared (Racheal) Sell of LaSalle, David (Jessica) Craig of North Dakota, and Doug Cherrone of Morris; one daughter, Shawn Muncy of Florida; twenty-four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three brothers, Joseph Muncy of Kentucky, David (Kathy) Muncy of Tennessee, and Jerry Muncy of Arkansas; one sister, Pauletta Lowe of Tennessee; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Jason Sell; and three brothers, Zillis "Zeke" Muncy, Willard "Dean" Osborne, and Herbert Muncy.
Teddy worked many years installing agricultural drainage tile. His favorite job, though, was bartending at the Santa Fe Bar & Grill, which he owned and operated with Janet from 1992-1999.Teddy was an avid hunter, enjoyed fishing, and was a big fan of professional wrestling. He always welcomed visitors, and as he got older, he kept up relationships with frequent and regular phone calls to family and friends near and far.
Cremation will be accorded. Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Minonk is assisting the family with arrangements.
Teddy's life will be celebrated at the American Legion Hall in Rutland, IL on Saturday, March 4, 2023 from 1:00-5:00 p.m. A memorial service will begin at 1:30 p.m. Memorials may be made to the family. Online tributes and condolences may be made at www.ruestmanharrisfuneralhome.com.
