Obituary: Ray L. Lindley, 75 - March 16, 2021
Ray L. Lindley, age 75 of Morris IL, and passed away peacefully to be with the Lord on March 16, 2021 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 20 at the Minooka United Methodist Church, Minooka, IL, with Rev. Sarah Hong officiating. Internment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Morris, IL. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the church, social distancing and masks are required. Private family service will follow. Streaming will be available at MinookaUMC.com or contact a family member for the link. Military Honors will be provided by the Morris Color Guard.

Ray was born November 1. 1945 to Austin and Roseabelle (Ford) Lindley in Minonk, IL. He was baptized and confirmed at Minonk United Methodist Church, Minonk, IL. He was married at the West Lisbon Lutheran Church, Newark, IL. Ray became the dear husband of Pearl (Walker) Lindley on November 20, 1971. Together they lived all of their married life in Morris, IL area.

He attended Minonk Grade School, graduating from Minonk-Dana Rutland High School with the class of 1963, and attended Joliet Junior College, Joliet, IL.

Ray served in the United States Army with the 2nd Inf. Div. in Korea, 1966-1967. He was Honorably Discharged in 1971.

He retired from Caterpillar Inc. in 2004 after 40 years of service. Ray graduated from Caterpillar's 4-year Manufacturing Training Program. After his retirement form Caterpillar Inc. he worked four years for Caterpillar Sub Contractors.

Ray and Pearl owned Lindley Excavating and Trucking for 22 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family, spending time on their farm, and videotaping many events for family and friends. He was an active member of Minooka United Methodist Church since 1974.

Ray is survived by his wife Pearl, two sons, Eric (Suzy) Lindley, Centennial, Colorado, Adam (Nina) Lindley, Lisle, and IL. Proud grandfather of Benjamin Lindley, Morgan Lindley, Emma Lindley, Grant Lindley. One sister; Alice Determann, Wheeling, IL., Four brothers; Russell Lindley, Glenview, IL., Lester (Letty) Lindley, Frankfort, IL., Harold (Kay) Lindley, Morton IL., Robert (Jeanne) Lindley, Culcairn, New South Wales, Australia. Also survived by his sisters and brother in laws; Helen Miller, Channahon, IL, Ruth (John) Eichelberger, Plainfield, IL, Peggy Walker, Apache Jct, AZ, Landy (Marie) Walker, Newark, IL, Duane Braund, Minooka, IL, Don Donley, Peotone, IL. He was an uncle to several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents, in-laws; Herman and Hazel (Ness) Walker, brothers; Austin F. Lindley, Lyle Lindley, Kenneth Lindley, sister; Esther Donley, Brother in law's; Frank Miller, John Walker, sisters in law; Nancy Braund, Virginia Lindley, Sharon Lindley, Ruth Lindley.
