Obituary: Sherry Lindeman, 87 - January 15, 2021
Sherry Lindeman, 87, of Ocala, FL passed away January 15, 2021 at Brandley Hospice House in Summerfield.

The former Sherry Janssen was born November 9, 1933 in Minonk, Illinois to Louise and Henry Janssen. She attended Rutland schools and Illinois State University, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Education. She taught 2nd and 4th grades in Streator until her marriage to Rev. Thomas Lindeman on February 11, 1962 in Dana, IL.

The Lindemans moved around Central Illinois, serving United Methodist churches in Elmwood, Milford, Bement, Mahomet, Weldon, and Rock Island. Sherry was an exemplary minister's wife, serving where needed most; she started children's Sunday School and Bible School at one church. The Lindemans retired to Ocala in 1991 and Sherry was a member of First United Methodist Church, Ocala. She was a member of United Methodist Women and sang in the choir at nearly every church they served. In 2018, Sherry moved to Canterfield Assisted Living, where she led a Bible Studies and was active in the weekly events and assist in church services. Sherry was a gifted seamstress and made all of her clothes. She loved singing, reading, teaching, history, geography, and her family. She liked playing Scrabble with her oldest grandson, Noah. She enjoyed playing pinochle and putting jigsaw puzzles together with friends.

Sherry is survived by two daughters: Lisa (Steve) Alcorn of Ocala and Cheryl (Randy) Prewitt of Rio Rancho, New Mexico; three grandchildren: Noah Smith and Cameron and Paige Prewitt; brother Paul Janssen (Karen) of Rutland, Illinois; nephew Geoff (Connie) Janssen and niece Yvonne Janssen.

She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.

Funeral services will be held at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at 11 am.
