Tonica Ryan saloon

This picture was taken around 1910. It shows the interior of the Tonica Ryan saloon on West Fifth street. There is still a bar at that location and has the same bar shown in the picture. In the picture from left to right is Marie Ryan, daughter of the owner, who later became a grade school teacher in Minonk, followed by Jim Ryan, Tonica Ryan, and his son John Ryan. Incidentally, Tonica Ryan got his nickname when he was a little boy and ran away from home and got as far as Tonica.
