Iva Robertson, shown above in front of the Woodford Hotel, was one of the owners of the hotel located on Oak Street between 5th and 6th streets. Iva owned the hotel in the 1940's and early 1950's. She sold the hotel in 1953 and moved to California with her husband Paul Winfield where she remained for the rest of her life. Being located near the Illinois Central train depot, the hotel was a favorite place to stay for railroad passengers coming to town and also for railroad workers.
Below are some pictures of her and the Woodford Hotel during her ownership of the hotel. The photos were provided by her son Barry Winfield who lives in Livermore, CA.
Pictured above is Iva with her nephew Jack Robertson on the steps of the Woodford Hotel.
