Illinois State Regent Sharon Frizzell recently visited the Black Partridge Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She gave a very interesting talk entitled, "The Buzz About DAR". Did you know that Illinois has over 100 DAR Chapters with over 7,600 members? The Illinois state theme is "Be Yourself, Be Together, Be DAR" and the state motto is "Communicate, Educate, Motivate". One of her state projects was to renovate the baseball field and the "Illinois Dugout" at the Kate Duncan Smith DAR school in Alabama. Another project was to help furnish supplies for the Illinois Veteran Homes.

Black Partridge helped with the November Naturalization Ceremony in Peoria. The group is now planning the Good Citizen program for seven area high school seniors. Christmas gift cards will be sent to nine girls who live in the Illinois cottage of the DAR school in Tamassee, NC.
