Weekend Festivals Carried on in Hot Weather

Record setting temperature in the middle 90's put a damper on the attendance at the weekend festivals in Minonk this weekend.  However, those in attendance still were greeted with lively polka music and rock music on Chestnut street in downtown Minonk.  More people attempted to dance to the polka music than last year which means polka may be making a comeback.

The annual Pumpkin Patch in the Park drew a fairly good crowd of mostly young people and their children in temperatures that were around 91 instead of 95.  This year's event included Cinderella and her Prince to greet the children.  Of course face painting, pumpkin painting and games also entertained the children.
