Oktoberfest, Pumpkin Patch festivals this weekend

Minonk will be having a lot of activity this weekend with two annual events taking place. The 2nd annual Minonk Oktoberfest will be held this Saturday, Sept. 23rd with activities throughout the day starting with with a vendor show and chili cook off in Canon park at 9 a.m. 

There also will be a Bags tournament starting at 1 p.m.Great live music featuring local band Free Range Chickens will perform from 2-5, The Ray Koncar Polka Band from 5-8, and Jury's out from 8-midnight!  Food from Grosenbach's Grocery will start at 11 a.m. Adult Beverages must be purchases at Minonk Lanes, Petri's Pour House, and Riff's Bar.

The annual Pumpkin Patch in the Park will be held in the Westside Park on Sunday, Sept 24, from 11 am to 3 pm.  There will be vendor stands and food stands serving brats, tacos, cider, coffee and hot chocolate.  There will be plenty of children's activities including games, pumpkin painting, face painting and a straw maze.   Bingo will be held from 1 to 3 pm.  And there will be a pumpkin stand with pumpkins, mums, straw bales and Indian corn.
