One of the great tragedies in Minonk's history was the deaths of Zadel and Donald Stoddard in 1903 in a fire at the Iroquois Theatre in Chicago. This website has links to this event but another website has been created that explains in exhaustive detail the horrors of the fire which was the deadliest theater fire and single-building fire in U.S. history. Death toll: at least 605.
