Obituary

Kathleen M. McCabe, 83, of Minonk, died at 8:56 a.m. Wednesday (May 17, 2017) at her home.

Her service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Duffy-Baier-Snedecor Funeral Home, Pontiac, with Pastor Paul Newhall of Reynolds officiating. Cremation rites will be accorded following the service with burial at a later date at Union Cemetery, Odell. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

She was born May 25, 1933, in Colorado Springs, Colo, daughter of Estelle and Lena Dennis Deal. She married William W. McCabe on June 14, 1951, in Odell. He passed away Dec. 12, 1991.

Surviving are her children, Gregory W. McCabe, Secor; Brian W. (Laurie) McCabe, El Paso; and Dean E. McCabe, Minonk; brothers, Edward (Cathi) Deal, Spring, Texas, and Robert (Jan) Deal, Pontiac; sister, Noreen (Robert) Shannon, Deer Park, Texas; six grandchildren, Andrew, Sarah, Kelly, Kate, Bryan and Caty; and seven great-grandchildren, Andrew James, Ryan, Daniel, Brandon, Hunter, Joey and Owen.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William; one son, Ernest McCabe; one brother, Alvin Deal; and one sister, Rosalie Sherman.

She was a graduate of Odell High School, Class of 1951. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Minonk.
