Carol J. Cirks, 85, of Minonk passed away on Thursday, November 23, 2023 at 11:20 p.m. Goldwater Care Nursing Home in Pontiac.

She was born on December 27, 1937 in El Paso a daughter of Paul and Ruth Smilie Jording. She married Donald R. Cirks on February 24, 1957 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Secor. He passed away on July 2, 2023.

Survivors include her children, Danny (Julia) Cirks of Minonk; Connie (David) Sexton of Milledgeville, GA; Larry (Mary Anne) Cirks of Wayne, PA; one brother, Dennis (Judy) Jording of Eureka; one sister, Kathy (Melvin) Tedford of VA; sister-in-law, Evelyn (Donald) Turner of Dana; two brothers-in-law, Marvin (Jane) Cirks of Zephyrhills, FL; Ray (Teresa) Cirks of Minonk; nine grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Marilyn (Carl) Cotner; and sister-in-law, Darlene (late Kenny) Reese.

Carol worked at State Farm in Bloomington for a few years.

She was a lifelong homemaker and enjoyed gardening, flowering and family history but mostly being with her family. She was the most amazing and wonderful mother, grandparent, great grandparent.

Carol was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Minonk where funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 2, 2023. Pastor Jay Hurd will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday. Burial will be in Minonk Township Cemetery. Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Minonk is handling arrangements for the family.
