City Water Rates to Increase 2.1%

In an abbreviated Minonk City council meeting Monday night, City Clerk Leta Janssen, Mayor Bill Koos, and aldermen Larry Fortner, Mark McNamara, and Russell Ruestman were sworn into office as newly elected officials to the City. All were incumbents.
City Administrator Austin Edmondson said the water and sewer rates will be increased by 2.1% effective in June. He also said a camera will be used next week to view the lines in the Elm Court Sewer Project.
Three bids were received for the Waste Water Treatment Plant improvements. The low bid was by Mid-Illinois Mechanical at $1,630,000. The council will vote on the submitted bids at the next session.
