11 - Roger and Barb Petri spent three days in Branson, Missouri seeing the Duttons and Legends in Concert shows. On our return home we stopped to see the Way of Lights at The Lady of the Snows in Bellville Illinois. The lights at both places were beautiful and really gave you the Spirit of Christmas.

September

13 - Richard O'Brien and his wife Urlene are at his mother's, Ida O'Brien's home to visit. They are also here for his High School reunion to be held at The Woodford Sat. They drove all the way from Texas. They also went to the new dollar store in town.

July

6 - Matt, Mary and Katie Cornell of Amherst, MA visited Madelon Young the past weekend.

4 - Wanda Patterson writes to tell us that Dennis and Bonnie O'Brien visited Ida O'Brien, Dennis' mother over the 4th. They came from Texas. He was worried about all the flooding going on there. They went to the fireworks celebration. They saw many friends in town as well while they were here.

2 - Albin Johnson and his wife Marilyn of San Clemente, CA spent the Fourth of July holiday visiting old friends in Minonk.


June

25 - Karen Mooradian had total hip replacement at Bromenn on June 13th.She was only in the hospital for 3 days.She is now recuperating at home and would like to hear from people.Her address is Box 243,Rutland,IL 61358.

2 - Joan Schenider of Sun Lakes, AZ is visiting friends in the Minonk area and is staying at the home of Shirley Lutomski.

8 - Barth Weistart is staying at the home of Dave Uphoff to do some research on coal mine history in Minonk.

27 - Joan Schneider is visiting her brother Albin and sister-in-law Marilyn Johnson in San Clemente California for a week, Joan currently is living in Sun Lakes , Ariz.

January

28 - Harlan and Marjorie Jones of Bellingham, Washington celebrated their 60th anniversary at an open house hosted by their 3 children on January 19th at the clubhouse in the Village at Cordata-Northside.

They were married Jan. 11, 1942 in Minonk, IL; having been born and raised there. Since Harlan was 90 yrs. old on Jan. 29, his birthday was also celebrated along with their anniversay.

Marjorie retired from Internal Revenue Service in Andover, Massachusetts and Harlan is a retired Chemical Engineer from the Raytheon Company in Andover. He graduated from Eureka College in 1941 with a degree in Chemistry. They are members of the First Presbyterian Church in Bellingham.

Their children are Martha Ashton of Woodbridge, VA., Todd Jones of Bellingham and Carole Jones Jalbert of Seattle. WA. They have eight grand-children, two step-granddaughters and three great-grandchildren.

Harlan's twin-sister Helen Ford resides at Heritage Manor in Minonk and she likewise celebrated her 90th birthday.

13 - John Earl Cunningham has been discharged from the hosptial, and is recovering at home.

11 - The quarterly community churches men's breakfast will be held at the Methodist Church on Saturday, January 19th at 7:30 am. Tickets may be purchased from Wayne Tucker, Eddie Renken, Baldy Kleen, Dean Barth, or Van Peters. Monies will go to the food pantry.

8 - Bob Meierhofer spent a week and a half after Christmas at BroMenn Hospital after being admitted the 28th. He is now residing at Good Samaritan Home in Flanagan. He would enjoy cards or visits.
