Monday, October 12, 2020 - Posted 8:30:02 PM by Lisa Blanchard

The City of Minonk is sharing the following information regarding Trick-or-Treating for this year. The choice to participate in trick-or-treating activities, whether taking children out, or handing out candy from your home, is a personal one. If you choose not to give out candy, then leave your outside lights off during the times of 5-8 pm on Saturday October 31st.

Should you decide to partake in activities, then reference the information below for safety recommendations from the Illinois Department of Public Health. The list is a consolidation of key points specific to trick-or-treating safety. To view the entire source documentation from IDPH, click here.

TRICK-OR-TREATING

LEAVE TREATS ON A TABLE ON FRONT WALKWAYS, SIDEWALKS OR OUTDOOR SPACE ALLOWING 6 FT FROM THE DOOR. CANDY SHOULD BE SPREAD OUT SO EACH PIECE IS NOT TOUCHING ANOTHER.

• STAY 6 FT APART FROM OTHER TRICK-OR-TREATORS.

• CARRY AND USE HAND SANITIZER FREQUENTLY

• DO NOT CONSUME CANDY UNTIL AFTER HAND WASHING.
