Black Partridge Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) met in the LaHood Park in Washington, IL for their September meeting. The guest speaker was State Regent Sharla Luken from Evanston, IL. Her emphasis for her two-year term is finding ways to help Veterans. She informed the chapter of projects that can be done to assist the veterans and ways to remember them for their service and sacrifices. The chapter will be taking needed articles to the Danville Veterans Home in October.

The DAR, founded in 1890 and headquartered in Washington, D.C., is a non-profit, non-political, volunteer women's service organization dedicated to promoting patriots, preserving American history, and securing America's future through better education for children. If you have a relative that served in the Revolutionary War or helped in some way with the Revolutionary War effort you may be interested in joining the Black Partridge Chapter. Please contact any Black Partridge member and we would be happy to answer questions.
