Fieldcrest Extends 1 pm Dismissal Time to Dec. 18th

Below is a letter sent to Fieldcrest parents from Superintendent Dr. Kari Rockwell.

Dear Fieldcrest Family,

At this evening's Board of Education meeting, the decision to extend the 1pm student dismissal time through December 18th was approved. This dismissal time allows our staff to work with remote learners, collaborate with colleagues, and help clean/disinfect instructional areas. The 1pm student dismissal time will continue through December 18th. High School (non-bus riders) may leave at 12:35pm.

No cost meals (breakfast and lunch) will be available to ALL Fieldcrest students effective Tuesday, September 8th. This week the USDA announced that the same meal program that fed our students at no cost in the spring is available again. This announcement will have an impact on ordering and therefore will be fully implemented for Fieldcrest students on Tuesday, September 8th. We are very grateful for this benefit in a time of uncertainty for many of our students and families.

DO NOT send an ill child to school. Please contact the school. When your student is ill, DO NOT send them to school. We will require your student to be isolated and then picked up immediately. Sending a sick child to school puts busmates, classmates, and school staff at risk. Students should NOT come to school when the student or a household member has been tested for COVID 19 due to symptoms and is awaiting results.

Complete your COVID Screening each day! This is essential to our adherence to guidelines and helps the family and school ensure students are healthy.

Reminder: No school on Friday, September 4th for staff planning and September 7th for Labor Day.

Fieldcrest CUSD#6 remains committed to providing your child and our staff with a safe and healthy environment. Thank you for your understanding and ongoing cooperation with our COVID prevention policies and procedures as we work to help protect your children, your families, and our staff and their families. For any questions or concerns, please contact your student's school or the unit office.

Respectfully, Kari L. Rockwell
