Fieldcrest Update on Return to School

Thursday, August 27, 2020 - Posted 9:15:37 PM by Dr. Kari Rockwell

Dear Fieldcrest Family,

With the first 6 days of school in the books, I'd like to share some of the positives and concerns we've encountered.

First, thank you to our staff and parents for modeling proper mask wearing. Our students are doing an outstanding job!

We are also very grateful for the bottled water donations, the support of returning to in-person learning, and the dedication of the families on remote learning.

As we finish out the first full week of school and move in to the second week, it is imperative that we improve in some areas:

COVID Screenings are required for every student, every day. Your child's school will work with you on learning this platform. If a parent/guardian continuously refuses to complete the daily screening, the student will be moved to remote learning. This is state required and is part of the system that we are using to keep your student(s) safe. For the many families that are completing this each day, thank you!

Congregating in groups before and after school is not allowed at this time. Please do not drop your student off prior to 7:25am. We ask that walkers and students drivers leave campus at the conclusion of the school day.

If your child is sick or someone in your household is sick, a household member is awaiting test results for COVID or has tested positive for COVID, DO NOT send your child to school. This puts others (students and staff) at risk! The goal of our staff, administration, and board of education is to remain in-person, offering instruction to students every day. When unnecessary exposure takes place, in-person instruction grows more and more difficult.

Please see the attached/enclosed updated/revised school calendar at this  link.

Respectfully, Kari L. Rockwell
