Minonk violinist featured soloist with orchestra

 Abigail Meyers, of Minonk, was a featured soloist with the Illinois Valley Symphony Orchestra on March 10. Ms. Meyers won the 2019 IVSO Senior Division Concerto Competition on January 5, 2019, and played Kabalevsky's Concerto for Violin and Orchestra in C Major, Op. 48, Vivace giocoso. She played to a large audience and received an ovation for her lively performance. As a Concerto Competition winner, she was presented with a certificate and $200 prize.

Ms. Meyers has played with the Illinois Valley Youth Symphony for the past 6 years and served as Concertmaster with them for the last 5. She also has played with the Peoria Youth Music Illinois Youth Symphony for the last two years and has served as Assistant Principle Second this year. She is the daughter of Paul & Jacqleene Meyers.
